The Participate live stream is hosted by Participate's Director of Engagement Mike Washburn and Dr. Julie Keane. Every other Monday, they explore the various ways nonprofits, NGOs, school districts and organizations leverage online communities to grow their organizations. Mike and Julie chat with Participate partners and friends who are building exemplary communities to impact their community members and the world around them.
The Game Study is hosted by Participate’s Mike Washburn and Steve Issacs. Every Monday afternoon, Mike and Steve take a deep dive into a game. Think “book study” but for games! We know games have incredible narrative power, Mike and Steve dig into those narratives and discuss how the game of choice can be used in the classroom.
Joining Mike and Steve are some of the world’s best experts in Game-based Learning who have spent time teaching with the game being studied.
The NASEF / Rube Goldberg Foundation Minecraft Challenge is hosted by Participate’s Mike Washburn. He is joined by Steve Isaacs, Eric Leitner and members of the NASEF and Rube Goldberg Found team. Every Wednesday afternoon, this stream is presented in support of the NASEF / Rube Goldberg Foundation Minecraft Challenge - a special event during these distant times to engage students in game design, computational thinking and creativity!
Iteration Nation is hosted by Participate's Director of Engagement Mike Washburn and Steve Isaacs. Every weekday, Mike and Steve explore new tools for teaching and learning. These tools primarily revolve around game-based learning but you never know what you might learn. Iteration Nation has a number of themed days focusing on specific content: Minecraft Monday: On Monday’s we focus on showing educators how to best use Minecraft Education Edition in the classroom. Fortnite Friday: On Fridays, Iteration Nation uses its time to show educators how they can once again leverage one of the most popular games in the world as a powerful tool for teaching and learning.
The Sandbox is hosted by Participate's Director of Engagement Mike Washburn and Steve Isaacs. Every two weeks on Thursday, Mike and Steve explore The Sandbox Game’s amazing Game Maker and VoxEdit tools and work with educators around the world to discuss teaching game design and computational thinking in the K-12 classroom.
Unscripted is hosted by Brad Shreffler. Every Tuesday, Brad takes a deep dive into coding with viewers. This is a truly collaborative learning experience, Brad doesn't have all the answers, but he's ready to learn something new with you! Unscripted is a project-based learning coding show. What is started in one show carries on for a number of episodes through to completion.
Occasionally, a co-host joins Brad. This co-host generally has unique experience valuable to Brad at specific points in the project.
