A2: shoes that you value and respect them as a person first. Let the teacher know that they are heard and that the coaching journey is what they make it. It is not a prescription it’s an ongoing conversation and reflection. #educoach

🌱 #EduCoach A1: What is on my mind is how to better facilitate a Coaching cycle. ♻️ "Call them forward to learn, improve and grow, rather than just to get something sorted out." #EduCoach Love this👇🏼by @KarlyMoura
  • truebluehes Jan 10 @ 9:19 PM EST
A2: It helps direct conversations from the start. This helps provide focus for quick conversations. #educoach
  • lsmith0917 - Moderator Jan 10 @ 9:19 PM EST
Our focus has been on building collective efficacy as well. I'd love to share ideas! #educoach
    In reply to @MrsAmandaLCook
  • MrsRyder58 Jan 10 @ 9:19 PM EST
A2: I usually start by asking the T what they would like to focus on or work on during our sessions. The kickstart question is similar to what I have done in the past. #educoach
  • MrsRobinsPKSpEd Jan 10 @ 9:19 PM EST
Q2 used it as an ice breaker to a coaching session. Got everyone relaxed and allowed for them to take what could have gotten in the way of a productive session off their shoulders #educoach
  • jkjohnsonbell - Moderator Jan 10 @ 9:20 PM EST
A2: This question opens the door for a teacher to share what they are thinking about. Could be personal issues, behavior issues in class, or the coaching issue you were expecting. Then you can respond where they are. #educoach
  • CmunroOz Jan 10 @ 9:20 PM EST
It is a great starter question. I sometimes use "what would you like to think about today?" too. Never as "how's it going?" - "what's better since we last spoke?" is much more +tve. #educoach
    In reply to @mrsjulienelson
  • thebenhartman Jan 10 @ 9:20 PM EST
A2: So many reasons! Nonthreatening, helps teacher set the stage, opens door for any topic, any ideas and removes the hint of an agenda. #educoach

  • wendymairclark Jan 10 @ 9:20 PM EST
A2: “what is on your mind?” Helps both parties engage in what is meaningful to the teacher. It does impose an outside agenda on the meeting. #EduCoach
  • genevie79cr Jan 10 @ 9:20 PM EST
A2: It lets the teacher share what they’ve been thinking about. Lets them guide the discussion. #educoach

Q3: What is another open-ended question you could use to start a coaching conversation? #educoach
  • emcconnell Jan 10 @ 9:21 PM EST
A2: It opens the conversation to what the T would like to discuss, rather than the coach directing the conversation. #educoach
  • genevie79cr Jan 10 @ 9:21 PM EST
A2: I like the opening question but love the AWE question! #educoach
