Participate to acquire eduClipper
We are pleased to share exciting news about the future of collaborative professional development and online continuous learning. eduClipper, the pioneering bookmarking and curation site for educators and students, will be acquired by Participate.
What does this mean for eduClipper users?
Participate, a 30-year-old education company that operates on the premise that teachers learn the most from other teachers, will work to enhance the eduClipper offering, while supporting existing users. The company builds online professional development tools that recognize—through badges and micro-credentials —the learning that takes place through digital resource discovery, curation and collaboration.
eduClipper was founded in 2012 by Adam Bellow and began as a tool that allowed educators to curate and share content with colleagues and students. In the past five years, eduClipper paved the way for social learning tools, including digital portfolios and collaborative assignment functionality. The passion, humor and learner-focused approach Bellow and eduClipper introduced to the sector greatly informed the development of the Participate platform.
eduClipper’s robust mobile applications allow educators and students to showcase their findings and share their work.
“Participate’s dedication to educators is clear,” said Adam Bellow, “and I could think of no better team to oversee and build out the future of eduClipper. I am impressed with their dedication to building tools which solve real needs of educators and vision they are executing upon.”
“eduClipper and Participate share a common mission in providing all learners with access to a quality education that prepares them to succeed in an increasingly global society,” said David Young, Participate CEO. “We look forward to extending these digital portfolio tools to meet the needs of educators and learners alike.”
Bellow will continue to focus his attention on building Breakout EDU, the immersive learning games company he co-founded.
