Why we love this app
The friendly and easy interface and the bright colors and graphics in this app make it one we love. Add to that several customization features, and this award-winning app is one you are sure to like as much as we do.
What it teaches and how it works
This app teaches letter and number formations as well as words. Students follow the marked path and trace the letters on the screen. If words are written, really cute graphics appear. When a level has been completed in letter or number formation, children can play back the writing they did with a video play button. The featured alphabet song is also fun to play. One of the unique customizations of this app is that you go to the iPad's general settings, locate the app in the list of apps on the iPad, and customize the settings on that screen. Levels of difficulty can be set as well as the type of handwriting style that is preferred. Other customizations, including the ability to change to left–handed letter formation are available, and the game can be reset through those settings. This app has been featured in many publications, and it has also won awards. There is a lite version available to try for free, but it only has the letters a, b, and c in that version.
Why your kid won't be able to put it down
The bright and colorful graphics in this app will keep children interested and engaged. The fun pictures in the word activity and the ability to play back their letter formations make this app stand out from many others in this category.
