Healthy Heroes 1 - Nutrition for Kids
Feed healthy foods to a hungry monster in this colorful, yummy game
Publisher: Yogome, Inc

Why we love this app

There are lots of fun iPad apps, but I love any game that teaches children important information – especially when they might not even realize it! Healthy Heroes is a simple game where players give a monster energy by feeding it healthy foods. They’ll be introduced to a variety of proteins, fruit, and vegetables, and have to avoid unhealthy choices if they want to make it to the next level.

What it teaches and how it works

Players are given the task of feeding hungry monsters so they won’t destroy the city of Yogopolis. Children must choose fruits and vegetables for the monsters instead of sweets. They’ll earn points for each round before moving on to the next level. Healthy Heroes is easy to use and even includes tips for healthy eating. The estimated calories are listed for foods used to feed the monster in each round, and the level of difficulty for completing each round is low.

Why your kid won't be able to put it down

Without a doubt your children will love throwing food at the hungry monsters. Hungry Heroes is a colorful, animated app with clear graphics that children will love. They’ll be so involved in this aspect of the game that they might not even realize the nutritional information being “thrown” at them.
